Thighplasty
This cosmetic surgery can remove sagging skin to make the thighs smoother and improve skin tone.
Thigh Lift
Thigh lift in Toronto is also known as thighplasty. This cosmetic surgery can remove sagging skin to make the thighs smoother and improve skin tone. Men and women who have notice skin laxity with age or sagging following weight loss are often self-conscious about their appearance. After the hard work of weight loss is achieved, many people still have unwanted loose tissue to contend with.
You may never wear shorts or swimsuits, and you may go to great lengths to hide your thighs. This procedure is designed for people who don’t just have excess fat deposits, but who also have a problem with sagging thigh skin, which doesn’t respond to diet or exercise.
Sometimes skin that remains after weight loss leads to chafing and irritation, which can make physical activity uncomfortable or limit clothing options.
A thigh lift surgically tightens saggy skin to make your thighs appear leaner and more proportionate with the rest of your frame. If you’ve struggled with misshapen legs, there is a cosmetic solution that has become a vital part of body-contouring plans for many people. The results are transformative and can help restore quality of life and confidence.
At Sovereign Plastic Surgery, we’d love to talk with you about your options.

How is a thigh lift procedure performed?
Your procedure will be performed at the stunning Sovereign Plastic Surgery Centre at 59 Hayden Street, downtown Toronto.
Our state-of-the-art level 3 OHP (out-of-hospital premises) surgical facility exceeds hospital standards regarding surgical, monitoring, and medical equipment.
Our contemporary *green* office system and elegant surroundings welcome you to comfort and private luxury.
Your thigh lift surgery will take roughly 2 to 3 hours under general anaesthesia.
There are 2 primary techniques for inner thigh lifts:
- Mini thigh lift (short scar technique)
- Vertical thigh lift (vertical scar technique)
A mini thigh lift requires a short incision placed in the natural groin crease on each side. This medial scar remains well-hidden once healed.
A vertical thigh lift requires an incision to be placed lengthwise from the groin downward. Skin laxity on the thighs all the way down to the knees can be tightened with this vertical scar.
Outer thigh lift
Improving the outer thighs requires an incision from the groin, around the buttocks, and across the back.
Advanced techniques will place incisions where most clothing will hide them. However, these are much more apparent than incisions for an inner thigh lift.
Liposuction may also be performed during your thigh lift to help recontour the inner or outer thigh.
Recovery & Candidacy
Toronto Thigh Lift Recovery
Following your surgery, you’ll be able to go home or to your hotel with a friend or family member. We’ll provide you with post-operative care instructions, a prescription for a pain reliever, and an antibiotic. You may have small soft drains exiting your incision sites, and they will need to be emptied periodically until they’re removed at a follow-up appointment. You’ll be provided with instructions to care for the drains and regarding activity restrictions.
We’ll advise you to walk slowly immediately after surgery, but strenuous activity, prolonged periods of standing, and aerobics will not be permitted for a minimum of 3 weeks. More intensive workouts are not permitted for up to 6 weeks.
You’ll see a gauze dressing over medical tape that covers your incisions. You may be asked to wear a stretchy compression garment to help reduce swelling and conform tissues to their new shape for 3 to 6 weeks. Most thigh lift patients can sponge bath immediately following surgery. You’ll be asked not to shower for 24 to 48 hours and to avoid sitting in a bath, pool, or hot tub until the incisions are completely healed.
Most swelling usually resolves by 3 weeks. You’ll see the residual swelling or incision redness fade by roughly 4 to 6 months.
We provide all of our surgical patients with the direct contact information for our plastic surgeons, and the team at Sovereign is always here for you. We’ll guide and support you throughout your recovery and see you for a schedule of follow-ups to assess your progress.
Who Is A Candidate For A Thigh Lift In Toronto?

- Stable, healthy body weight

- No significant health issues affecting your ability to heal
Additionally, if sagging skin on your inner or outer thighs affects how you feel in clothing or makes movement uncomfortable, you could be an ideal candidate.
