Brow Lift Recovery
Once your procedure is complete, you’ll spend time in our comfortable recovery room until you feel ready to return home. We’ll ask that you have a friend, family member, or nurse to accompany you for the first 24 hours.
You’ll receive a detailed post-operative recovery kit to guide you and answer questions. You’ll also have direct contact information to reach our helpful staff or your surgeon, if needed.
Patients receive pain medication and an antibiotic to take as directed. Careful, atraumatic techniques are used. So aside from normal bruising and swelling, most people describe the discomfort as manageable.
We advise brow lift patients to keep their head and shoulders elevated and avoid bending over to avoid unnecessary swelling or bleeding. You can take short walks around home for the first few days and enjoy restful activities.
Your sutures will be removed when you visit us for a follow-up at 1 week. Most people feel up to going out or doing light work by then.
That will be an excellent time to ask for help at home, with errands, children, or pets so that you can relax for 10 to 14 days.
Incisions are usually closed within 2 weeks. You’ll note that most swelling and bruising has resolved by that point as well.
Scars are hidden as well as possible within the hairline. Though they appear reddish initially, you can expect then to flatten and fade throughout the first 12 months.
