Neck Lift

Sovereign Cosmetic Surgery invites you to explore the possibilities of advanced facial artistry.

Youthful Skin

Necklift surgery treats some of the most visible signs of ageing we’d all rather hide. Delicate skin on the face and neck undergo changes as we age, developing wrinkles, sagging, bands, and bulges. “Turkey neck” is a common nickname for the hanging, banded skin we attempt to cover with creative necklines and scarves.

As youthful fat and skin firmness deplete, the downward toll of gravity often shows in the neck first. While we have facelifts, laser skin tightening, and targeted anti-aging skincare for the complexion, a person’s neck may sometimes be overlooked.

Many Toronto necklift patients combine rejuvenation in this area with other facial cosmetic surgery for a comprehensive makeover. Liposuction, tightening muscles, and removing excess skin combine to rewind the look of age on your neck, improving the whole lower face.

At Sovereign Cosmetic Surgery, our Royal College-certified facial plastic surgeons cater to men and women of all backgrounds and ages. Consider expanding your wardrobe and revealing your neck proudly again with this popular treatment.

How Is Toronto Neck Lift Surgery Done?

Neck tightening usually requires 1 to 3 hours and is done under general anaesthetic.

A cervicoplasty is ideal for poor skin elasticity, as it removes excess skin. Platysmaplasty to reduce banding is often incorporated. Neck liposuction removes double chins and excess fat deposits to reveal jawline bone structure and youthful contours.

As a stand-alone procedure, incisions are made behind the ears, like those for a facelift. Tightening weak neck muscles (platysmaplasty) requires a 2 to 3cm incision under the chin. Liposuction can be performed through a small incision under the chin or in the crease behind your earlobes. These are typically well-hidden and with care, will fade to be barely detectable.

Once complete, incisions are sutured closed and covered with medical tape. You may have a gauze dressing in place for the first few days, and a stretchy compression garment to help smooth your new neckline.

Where Will My Neck Lift Be Performed?

Our downtown Toronto cosmetic surgery centre exceeds the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario inspection standards. We’ve designed each sunlit, stylish room with stellar safety and a luxurious experience in mind. We’re proud to be one of the few fully accredited Level 3 OHP (out-of-hospital premises) facilities in the province, and we exceed quality standards.

When you schedule a private neck lift surgery with us, count on a hand-picked team of friendly, dedicated staff and no chance that your operation will be cancelled or moved for urgent cases, as with public hospitals.

At Sovereign, we treat you like royalty from the first conversation to long after taking necklift before and after pictures.

Neck Lift Recovery

After your neck lift, you’ll rest in our comfortable recovery room until you are ready to return home or to your hotel with another adult.

We’ll provide you with detailed, procedure-specific instructions, and you can reach your surgeon and support staff with any questions or concerns. Your post-surgery instruction kit takes the guesswork out of recovery with advice, timelines, and medication directions.

Most people don’t describe neck lift recovery as overly painful, but you can expect to feel swollen, sensitive, and a little bruised for the first week. At roughly 1 week, your stitches will be removed, and most patients return to light work by 2 weeks as the majority of inflammation or bruising resolves.

We’ll advise you to elevate your head and shoulders, avoid aerobic activity, and bending over until cleared by your surgeon.

It’s a great idea to arrange for extra help at home with housework, children, or pets while you relax.

Neck Lift Candidates

You might be a good candidate for a neck-tightening surgery if:

  • You have loose skin on your neck
  • You struggle with “turkey neck” and vertical banding
  • You no longer see a defined jawline
  • You have a double or triple chin
  • Your neck is wrinkled or appears otherwise aged

Neck surgery is often combined with a facelift, mini facelift, or chin implant. These procedures complement neck smoothing beautifully and can revitalize your whole face from collarbone to brow.

The best way to discover your options is to schedule a consultation with a specialized plastic surgeon.
